DescriptionAfter being picked up from your accommodation in Sofia early in the morning, travel for approximately 3 hours toward the Valley of Roses. You will have the chance to participate in the rose-picking ritual or just to have a walk in the field of roses. Learn about the rose which is an ancient symbol of beauty and youth. The Rose Festival has come to be a symbolic reflection of the lifestyle, the spirit, and the cultural patterns, which are typical of the Kazanluk region. Next, visit an authentic and modern rose oil distillery factory where you can enjoy treats of rose liqueurs, rose jams, and traditional Bulgarian banitsa (homemade cheese pastry). Sample a selection of natural ethereal oils. After this ritual, transfer to the town of Kazanluk where you will visit the Kazanluk Thracian tomb UNESCO site and the Historical Museum. At noon, watch the street parade carnival procession which lasts about an hour. Then enjoy a picnic-bbq as you watch a rich folklore program. After lunch, visit the Museum of the Rose before heading back to Sofia.
