Pomorie Historical Museum is only 10 min walk from the Central Beach, famous for its 'healing' (rich in iron and manganese) dark sand. Faster tanning and bone pain relief are among the main benefits.
Pomorie is a small town north of Burgas on the way to Sunny Beach sea resort. Like most Black Sea settlements, Pomorie has a lot to share about its history. The Historical Museum is situated in the renovated building of the former High School and displays various artefacts from prehistoric times till the Middle Ages. The exhibition is distributed in 3 rooms. Mammoth bones and tusks, an ancient coin with a ship, a Roman amphora and an ancient anchor are among the most attractive exhibits at the Museum.
Open Monday to Friday with an hour lunch break. Discounts apply for children, students, disabled and pensioners.
