The Standing Stones (in Bulgarian Pobitite Kamani, Dikilitash in Turkish) known also as The Stone Forest, is an amazing rock formation located 20 km west of Varna close to the Hemus Highway. There are no public transport connections, no entrance fees and no guides. Guides in Bulgarian and other languages can be arranged at extra cost if booked in advance through the Varna Museum of Natural History - call + 359 52 618011 for more information and a quote. The Standing Stones welcome visitors from 10 am till 5 pm Mon-Fri in winter and Tue-Sun in summer. This is an open site with rough rock and sand terrain and low vegetation. Visitors are strongly advised to wear the appropriate clothing and footwear and to take the usual precautions.
The close proximity to Varna and some of the best Black Sea resorts which provide an abundance of accommodation and dining options, is a key advantage of Pobitite Kamani sight.
