Radisson Blu Grand Hotel
Bulgaria
Radisson Blu Grand Hotel, member of the world-renowned Carlson Rezidor Hotel Group, is arguably the best located five-star hotel in Sofia, standing less than a hundred metres away from some of the city's most popular symbols, such as the splendid main building of the Parliament, St. Kliment Ohridski University, the oldest academic institution in Bulgaria, Alexander Nevsky Cathedral, the largest and most impressive Orthodox temple in the country and the iconic Monument to the Tsar Liberator. Pretty nice, isn't it? What is even better is that many of the rooms and suites at Radisson Blu offer stunning views of those landmarks, so it is practically impossible to end up dissatisfied with any of them.
The overall design of the hotel can be described in one simple word - impeccable. Everything, from the stylishly clean façade, to the spacious and artistic lobby, to the charming rooms and the beautifully furnished suites, screams luxury and precision. The sophisticated order of this place grips you straight from the moment you go through its glass doors and never lets you go.
Your wonderful journey in this world of perfection starts from the lobby, which, quite frankly, looks more like a museum of contemporary art than a place where you leave your luggage and check in. The moving sculpture of the Homeless Man (Yinka Shonibare), carrying his heavy trunks, is on your left, while the gigantic Family Tree canvas (Zang Huang) greets you from the wall right above the reception desk. All rooms and suites at the hotel boast attractive interior designs and lovely furniture. They are cosy and roomy and have enormous bathrooms. Needless to say, every single one of them is fully equipped with all sorts of amenities and, as we already pointed out, they offer the best views in Sofia.
The hotel also has several conference halls, a modern gym and a lobby bar. Its location makes it a great starting spot for sightseeing tours around the city centre or leisurely walks along the neat Shishman Street with its quiet cafes and little boutiques.
