Kostenkovtsi

The village of Kostenkovtsi is situated 12 km from Gabrovo and 6 km from Dryanovo, in one of the most beautiful parts of the Stara Planina (Balkan) mountain. There are over 30 monasteries and churches within a radius of 20 km, breath-taking views, excellent trekking and riding trails, brilliant rough terrains for off-road driving adventures, in brief - a lot to see and do.

Kostenkovtsi complex comprises of 3 fully renovated, extended and modernized houses - The House of the Treasure Hunter, The House with the Umbrellas and The Kostenkovtsi Han (Inn). The common thing about them is that they combine the old traditional exterior and inside layout with modern hotel facilities thus bringing in a delightful feeling of comfort and homeliness.

The House of the Treasure Hunter features 1 studio and 1 two bedroom apartment and sleeps up to 6 adults and 3 children. The charming garden homes various rose plants and bushes, boxwood, old walnut trees and exotic (for this part of the world) cypress trees. There is a small Jacuzzi in the corner of the garden, a delicate romantic touch for those seeking romance.

The House with the Umbrellas features a large yard which was transformed into a beautiful garden with flowers, plants, birch, cherry and walnut trees. The former barn and shed have been converted in a luxury apartment. The old dairy and self-built conservatory are now a modern studio. 3 more studios with huge French windows can be found in the bottom part of the garden.

The Kostenkovtsi Han (Inn) is situated in the former Village Hall built in 1912. Nowadays it offers modern urban comforts among genuine antique rural accents.

Zhaltitsata (The Gold Coin) mehana (traditional restaurant) is a great place to see more and taste some of the local traditions.
