Byalata Kushta (The White House) Kovachevitsa
Bulgaria
Kovachevitsa is small charming village in the West Rhodope Mountains, 23 km from the town of Gotse Delchev. The houses are built entirely of rock and stone, even the roof tiles are stone tiles. The permanent population is only a few dozen but Kovachevitsa attracts many tourists and businesses especially during the summer.
Nine double rooms, a mehana, a garden BBQ and a meeting room - this is what the Byalata Kushta (White house) offers to its guests. Rooms are clean and functional, furnished with solid wood furniture. All rooms have private facilities. Local Rhodope rugs and bedspreads add to the authentic yet modern ambience.
The mehana serves the typical Rhodope specialties and dishes from the Bulgarian cuisine. The outside garden BBQ, the oven fireplace and the fountain under the shed bring in a feeling of homely comfort and coziness.
The surrounding area offers plenty of options for walks and sightseeing. The hiking trails in the Rhodope mountains are among the easiest and most beautiful and you can encounter various representatives of the local flora and fauna. Chepelare and Pamporovo are about half an hour drive and the Narechenski Bani Mineral Springs are 15 min away.
