Naval Museum

Bulgaria

The Roman Baths are another famous historical site close to the Naval Museum. And if you want to spend more time in the Sea Garden area, Varna Aquarium is only 5 min walk away.

The Naval Museum in Varna was established more than a century ago and is devoted to the study and promotion of Bulgaria's maritime and naval history. The permanent exhibition is distributed in 11 halls on two floors and features numerous objects and documents illustrating this country's traditions and development of sailing, shipbuilding and ship repair from Antiquity to Modern Times. The spacious museum gardens host a good collection of larger exhibits, mostly military naval artefacts from the World Wars I and II - sea mines, anchors, ship cannons, choppers, a minesweeper and more.

The Naval Museum in Varna is located in the emblematic Sea Garden and is easy to reach on foot or by car. It is open Wednesday-Sunday from 10:00 till 18:00 and offers free admission to children under 7 as well as special discounts for groups, families, students and senior citizens. Guided tours are available at additional charge.
