Koprivshtitsa is a beautiful mountain town situated in the heart of Sredna Gora mountain. It is an architectural and historical reserve conveniently located between Sofia (110 km) and Plovdiv (90 km). There are over 300 architectural, historical, ethnographic, and art monuments on the territory of the reserve, plenty of hotels, restaurants and museums. Koprivshtitsa is a perfect destination for a one day or a weekend country escape for people from bigger cities like Sofia and Plovdiv. Revival spirit, clean mountain air, delicious country food - there is so much to do and see here and mainly, breathe, relax, and recharge.
The town offers a good number of hotels, mostly small family hotels, guest houses and B&Bs and you can rent a room, a floor or a whole house even. Most houses have a 'mehana' which acts like a restaurant or guests use it to prepare their own food.
There is regular bus and train transportation from Sofia but public transport connections from Plovdiv are more limited and not as convenient.
