The National Museum of Natural History

Established over a century ago, The National Museum of Natural History in Sofia boasts to be the oldest and biggest of its kind in Bulgaria and on the Balkans. Its exhibitions occupy 15 halls on 4 floors and display various samples and species (some of them extinct) of the fauna, flora, rocks and fossils of this and other countries. The National Museum of Natural History is an operational base for scientific study and research as well as student training and induction programs. Its halls are often used for practical seminars and workshops.
The Museum is located in the heart of the city and public transport connections are excellent. Working hours are Monday to Sunday from 10:00 till 18:00 (last admission 17:00) except on national holidays.
