Ruse Historical Museum is located in the beautiful building of the former Boys' School in the heart of Ruse. It is open every day from 9 am till 6 pm and hosts several collections and museum exhibitions distributed on 2 floors. The current exhibitions are Ruse Citizens on the Road, The Everyday Life of a Roman Legionary on the Low Danube, The Coins of the Scythian Kings. Silver treasures, china and bronze helmets are the more attractive collections on display. Entrance tickets cost 4 leva and discounts apply for groups, students and pensioners. Guided tours in Bulgarian are available for an affordable cost.
Ruse Historical Museum is in charge of 3 open air expositions, these are the Rock-hewn Churches of Ivanovo, the Sexaginta Prista Roman fortress and Cherven medieval stronghold.
