National History Museum

Bulgaria

A visit to The National Historical Museum is best combined with a visit to the nearby villages of Boyana and Dragalevtsi. You can see the Boyana Church, the Dragalevtsi Monastery, enjoy the clean mountain air outside some cafe or restaurant or go for a hike in the Vitosha mountain.

The National History Museum is located on the outskirts of Sofia. It is easy to reach by both private and public transport and has a spacious parking lot for cars and coaches.

The museum is open Monday to Sunday from 09:00 till 17:30 in winter and from 09:30 till 18:00 in summer and offers free entry each last Monday of the month.

There are various discounts and promotions for students, senior citizens, groups, adults accompanying children, regular visits and on some holiday dates - check the museum's website for more detailed information on admission and current exhibitions.

The Museum provides guided tours in different languages and documentary shows, please inquire and book in advance.

Filming and taking pictures are allowed at extra charge.
