Description
We will make a short transfer from the center of Veliko Tarnovo to the village of Emen, during the day. Our hike along the first eco-trail will begin in the center of the village. At the beginning, we will stop in front of Emenska cave to take a look at one of the richest habitats of bats in northern Bulgaria. The path will take us to the canyon of the Negovanka river, from where fabulous views can be found. Before long, we will descend into the deepest part of the canyon surrounded by 100-meter sheer cliffs to enjoy the beauty and feel the energy flow from the Momin skok waterfall. After about 40 minutes we will be back at the bus to move to the next interesting part of our adventure, namely Geocomplex Zarapovo. In just 30 minutes, we will travel along a beautiful rough terrain with characteristic karst niches and cascades along the river to reach Zarapovski Waterfall. We will take pictures on the bridge in front of the waterfall and find a comfortable place for a picnic. We will move ahead to the next stop on our journey - Musinska Cave. This is a water cave from the entrance of which water springs. This is not just a spring, but the beginning of a river. It is here where the inhabitants of the Roman city of Nicopolis Ad Istrum chose to tap as their main water source. We will peek into the cave, jump over the river, and go as deep as possible. The geological education 'Ponorite' is located very close. We will give it the necessary attention and descend about 30 meters underground on a metal ladder to explain how this phenomenon was formed. After a short rest, we go to the next destination, the object of our interest - Kaya Bunar or Hotnishki waterfall. The waterfall is easily accessible and is only a few minutes from the parking lot. From there, however, a challengingly steep path awaits us, which is protected by railings. After overcoming the height, the wonderful world of the karst gorge above the waterfall is revealed before us. We enter a cascade of turquoise waterfalls crossing the river on wooden bridges. Only when we are sure that we have taken in enough views and taken enough photos do we go back to Veliko Tarnovo?Includes
