Day 1: Experience the Kukerlandia Festival in Yambol, Bulgaria, an annual event that celebrates the ancient Bulgarian ritual of the Kukeri. Watch as folklore figures wear elaborate, often terrifying masks and costumes to perform rites meant to ward off evil spirits, purify the community, and ensure prosperity for the coming year. Kukerlandia has become an exciting and highly anticipated event that attracts both locals and international visitors. During the festival, the streets of Yambol come alive with a spectacular parade of Kukeri groups from across Bulgaria, each group showcasing its unique style of mask and costume. Private home hosted dinner included! Overnight in Yambol Day 2: Plovdiv offers us a lot to see and visit and we're going to start the day by taking a walk along the rough cobble-stoned streets of the Old Town - a charming architectural reserve with its own style and atmosphere. During our walk we'll enter the Ethnographic Museum and the Ancient Roman theatre. After our time spent there we can drive to Sofia. Estimated time of our arrival is 6.15 pm
