Description
On the first day, you will explore Sofia and Plovdiv. The tour begins with a pickup in Sofia, followed by a 3-hour city tour. In Sofia, you will visit the UNESCO-listed Boyana Church and key landmarks such as Alexander Nevsky Cathedral, Saint Sofia Church, the National Theatre, and St. George Rotunda.
Next, you will travel to Plovdiv, check into your accommodation, and have lunch at a traditional Bulgarian restaurant. The Plovdiv tour includes visits to the Roman Theatre and Roman Stadium. You will walk through the Old Town on cobblestone streets, passing houses from the Bulgarian Revival Period. After the city tour, you will return to your hotel for an overnight stay.
On day two, after breakfast, you will depart Plovdiv and head to the Rose Valley. The transfer takes about one and a half hours, passing scenic landscapes. In Kazanlak, you will visit the Thracian Tomb of Kazanlak, a UNESCO World Heritage site, the History Museum, and the Shipka Memorial Church. Before returning to Sofia, you will stop at Damascena, a family-run distillery in the Rose Valley. Here, you will have lunch in a rose garden and learn about rose oil production. The tour concludes with a drop-off at your Sofia accommodation.
