DescriptionPanagyurishte is a small historical town in southern Bulgaria. Begin with a pick-up from your hotel in Sofia at 10:00 to embark on a full-day history tour and wine tasting with your private guide. You will visit the Historical Museum of Panajyrishte, where you will see the Panagyurishte gold treasure. It is the most famous of the Thracian gold treasures. This ancient gold has made Bulgaria famous worldwide. The Thracians loved drinking wine and they believed that by drinking wine they became more spiritual. When a Thracian king died, he was buried in a grave, called a Thracian tomb, together with his wife, a horse, a dog and a gold treasure. Afterwards, it will be time for lunch and without a doubt with excellent wine. The local wine producer is called Rumelia. Though not belonging to the most decorated cellars in Bulgaria, their wines are real gems. Five delicious wines will be served in a charming tasting room accompanied by appetizers, mineral water and plenty of interesting information about viticulture in Bulgaria. Then, enjoy a relaxing lunch surrounded by the captivating scenery at the winery.
