Description
Mount Vitosha, the oldest Nature Park on the Balkan Peninsula, is considered to be the cradle of Bulgarian tourism. As the most frequently visited Bulgarian mountain, it fascinates thousands of tourists with its alpine scenery, nature reserves, and breathtaking rock formations. After a transfer to Dragalevtsi, take the chairlift to Goli Vruh Peak. Head across the plateau area to Cherni Vruh Peak (the Black Peak) at 7,500 feet (2290 meters) above sea level and take a short break to sample the local tea made from a variety of fragrant mountain herbs. From here either get back along another route or continue across the plateau to the Golden Bridges area, famous for its stone rivers covered with yellow lichens. From this spot set out on various strenuous or easy walks, depending on how fit you are! Take in some of the most majestic nature in Bulgaria, just a short trip from Sofia.Includes
