Escape the noise of the city and spend a full day surrounded by nature, animals, and the peaceful mountain landscape of rural Bulgaria. Meet an experienced local shepherd and become part of the daily life of a traditional working sheep farm. Begin your day by cleaning the sheep barn and participating in the morning milking. Try milking a sheep under the shepherd’s guidance. Afterwards, accompany the flock to the mountain pastures and learn about sheep breeds, animal behavior, traditional farming practices, and the everyday responsibilities of a Bulgarian shepherd. In the afternoon, return to the farm with the flock, observe or participate in the evening milking, and complete an authentic day of farm work. Depending on the season, experience sheep shearing, lambing, feeding newborn lambs, breeding-season activities, or traditional preparations connected with Easter and rural Bulgarian life. Every visit is different because the program follows the natural farming calendar and the needs of the animals.
