Travel by train through the scenic Balkan Mountain landscapes to Tryavna, one of Bulgaria’s best-preserved towns from the National Revival period. Your guided tour starts at the Old Church of St. Archangel Michael, notable for its elaborately carved wooden iconostasis and tranquil courtyard.
Next, visit the Old School, dating from the early 19th century, representing one of Bulgaria’s earliest secular educational institutions and a symbol of the revivalist movement.
