The tour begins with hotel pickup in Sofia, followed by a 90-minute drive to Plovdiv. Start by visiting Nebet Tepe, an ancient settlement dating back to around 4000 BC, and explore its historic structures.

Next, explore the Roman theater of Philippopolis, one of the best-preserved ancient theaters globally. Visit Hindliyan's House to see its intricate wooden architecture, then continue to the vibrant Kapana district, known for its shops and one of Europe's longest pedestrian streets.

Afterward, take a 30-minute drive to Asen's Fortress, located atop a hill in the Rhodope Mountains. Learn about its strategic role in defending the route from the Aegean Sea to Thrace. See the fortress ruins and the Church of the Holy Mother of God, which features 14th-century murals and the Balkans' earliest preserved rectangular tower. Enjoy wide views from the fortress before departing.
