Description

This tour visits Lovech, one of Bulgaria’s oldest settlements, ideal for history and nature enthusiasts.

Explore the old town and Varosha quarter, featuring the ethnographic complex and the Vasil Levski house museum. Lovech was the center of the Internal Revolutionary Organization led by Vasil Levski (1837–1873) in the fight against Ottoman rule. The narrow cobblestone streets of Varosha and its authentic atmosphere reflect this historic period. At the highest part of the old town, you will find the remains of Hisarya Fortress and the nearby monument to Vasil Levski.

The covered bridge over the Osam River is the city’s symbol. Built between 1872 and 1874 by master builder Kolyu Ficheto, the bridge links the old and new parts of Lovech and hosts shops selling local souvenirs. Stratesh Hill offers a recreational park and the Lovech Zoo, perfect for a walk.

Krushuna Waterfalls are among Bulgaria’s highest travertine cascades. An eco-trail with stairs and bridges allows visitors to view the waterfalls from multiple platforms. The journey from Lovech to Krushuna is approximately 2.5 hours.

Devetashka Cave, located 18 km from Lovech, is the largest cave in the Devetashka Plateau, featuring cascades of lakes and waterfalls inside. It is a notable addition for first-time visitors.

There is spare time allocated for lunch during the tour.
