Description
Travel approximately 2.5 to 3 hours northwest of Sofia to the Balkan Mountains, where the Belogradchik Rocks are located. These sandstone formations are grouped in various shapes, some named after the objects or people they resemble. Many rocks are linked to local legends, which your guide will share during the tour. The area was nominated as one of the New 7 Wonders of Nature in 2009 and is a designated Natural Landmark by the Bulgarian government.
Nearby, on a hilltop, stands the Belogradchik Fortress, built during Roman times. You can explore its imposing facade and historical significance. Afterwards, visit the nearby Veneca Cave featuring modern colorful lighting, enhancing its natural beauty.
