Description
The tour begins at 8:30 AM, with pickup available from your hotel or the Serdika Meeting Point in Sofia, depending on your booking option. After a 2.5-hour drive, arrive at Devetaki Cave, a notable filming location for Expendables 2 where famous actors like Bruce Willis and Jean-Claude Van Damme starred. The cave also served as a food and petrol storage site during the Cold War.
Next, visit Krushuna Waterfalls, a natural cascade of blue waterfalls set amidst a forest. Take a relaxing walk along the stream and enjoy the scenic surroundings.
In the afternoon, explore the historical town of Lovech. Visit the old quarter, Varosha, known for its cobblestone streets and the covered wooden bridge built by renowned Bulgarian master Kolio Ficheto in the 19th century. Discover the Hissarya Fortress, once home to Bulgarian emperors, and consider optional visits to the fortress interior and the museum dedicated to Vassil Levski, Bulgaria’s famous revolutionary hero.
