Description
Your tour begins with a hotel pickup in Sofia, followed by a scenic drive through southwestern Bulgaria’s landscapes. Experience fresh air and peaceful surroundings en route to Heraclea Sintica.
At Heraclea Sintica, you will explore well-preserved ancient streets and structures. The site was the regional center of the Sinti Thracian tribe during the Hellenistic and Roman periods. Since 2007, ongoing excavations have uncovered tunnels, arches, and a ceramic mask workshop linked to an ancient theater. In 2024, archaeologists uncovered most of a marble statue of Hermes in an ancient sewer.
After the archaeological visit, continue to Rupite, a natural area known for its volcanic features, warm mineral springs, and spiritual significance. Visit Baba Vanga’s home and the Saint Petka church, built with her support, surrounded by a peaceful park.
A lunch break at a local restaurant is included before returning to Sofia in the evening.
