From there, enjoy a comfortable journey to the Zemen Monastery, located about 70 km southwest of Sofia. The traveling time to Zemen Monastery will be around 1 hour and 30 minutes, and your stay there will be an additional 1 hour. The Zemen Monastery is a serene 11th-century complex nestled in the picturesque Zemen Gorge and is famous for its unique architectural style and stunning frescoes that reflect the art of the First Bulgarian Empire. After exploring Zemen Monastery, return to Sofia for the next highlight: National Museum of History, one of the largest history museums in the Balkans.
