During your visit here learn about the monastery's history dating back to the 15th century and its association with St. Dimitar Basarbovski. After your monastery visit, head to Veliko Tarnovo. Also known as the 'City of Tsars,' Veliko Tarnovo is situated on the three hills of Tsarevets, Trapezitsa, and Sveta Gora. See the town's old palaces, churches, and fortresses. Then head to the village of Arbanasi. Set on a high plateau, Arbanasi is known for its rich history and monuments.
