Canape Connection
Bulgaria
Canapé Connection is a truly unique hostel situated in the very centre of Sofia. It is made by travellers for travellers and no clients are allowed in... only guests and friends who wish to feel the cosiness of home while away from home. All the people involved with this hostel are keen tourists who have visited all sorts of incredible destinations around the world and stayed in hundreds of hostels from which they have borrowed many clever ideas and cool features to pimp up their lovely place with. Some of these can be noticed straight from the moment you enter the door.
The style of the hostel is outright artistic. Most of the furniture that you will see there was either designed or restored by the owners themselves, so don't act surprised if you stumble upon an unusual couch, a funny-looking lamp or a bookshelf made of old crate. The decorations on the walls are just as exciting and varied.
Canapé Connection Hostel offers a nice range of rooms, all of which are clean, snug and boast incredible atmosphere charged with positive emotions. The prices are also extremely affordable and include a huge number of additional services and amenities such as ironing, breakfast, huge beds and unlimited Internet access. Naturally, the delicious homemade breakfast changes every day, depending on the mood of the person preparing it. It may comprise waffles, pancakes, or fresh croissants. Our favourite morning dish, however, is the traditional Bulgarian cheese banitsa.
The personnel are incredibly sweet and helpful as well. They are always ready to organise a walking tour around Sofia for you, help you plan a trip, give you directions or just pamper you in every possible way.
In wintertime the large 8-bed room with the high ceilings and wooden floors on the top floor hosts many artistic events and parties which you can read more about on Canapé Connection's facebook page. The hostel also has a nice kitchen which all guests can use freely and a small inner yard where people can leave their bikes without having to lock them.
